“Siam Tulip” Queen of rain forest
“Dok Krachiao” is also known as “Siam Tulip”. It has pink-purple petals and it is an herbaceous plant like ginger or galangal which has underground rhizomes. Siam tulip is mostly found mostly in the area of Pa Hin Ngam National Park and Sai Thong National Park. During winter and summer, the rhizome of Siam tulip is underground. But when the rainy season comes, pink Siam tulip will bloom fully.
When you should visit?
You should visit during June – August for Siam tulip full bloom in Chaiyaphum, especially July. Full bloom period is different in each year based on weather. So, you should ask the National Park before visit, and do not forget to bring umbrellas or raincoats.
