Muang Thai Life Assurance, in collaboration with Muang Thai Yim Foundation and the Department of Older Persons, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, continues to promote a quality ageing society by developing personnel to improve the well-being of the elderly. The Company organized the “Caregiver Training Program for the Elderly (4th Edition)”, an 18-hour basic elderly care course, to address Thailand’s shift towards an ageing society.

Mr. Sara Lamsam, Chief Executive Officer of Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited, stated, “Muang Thai Life Assurance continues the Caregiver Training Program for the Elderly (4th Edition) at the CSR Building, Sarnsara Learning Center in Ratchaburi Province. This training was held for staff from related departments, such as cleaning staff, groundskeepers, and security personnel, totaling 53 participants. The goal was to enhance their knowledge and skills in caring for elderly individuals at home and within the community, an important step toward improving the quality of life and safety for elderly people in Thai society, which is transitioning into a fully aged society.

The training consisted of 18 hours of both theoretical and practical learning. The course content focused on providing participants with a basic understanding of physical and mental health care for the elderly. The program was certified by the Department of Older Persons and featured subject-matter experts to ensure that participants could gain necessary skills, such as providing information and advice on appropriate nutrition for different groups of elderly people, encouraging hygienic and nutritious eating habits for older adults, promoting holistic health knowledge by teaching appropriate and correct forms of exercise for the elderly, and preventing accidents and supporting mental well-being in older adults. These are all important elements in creating a safe environment and supporting the happiness of seniors in their retirement years.

This training is of great importance to society as a whole. When more people understand and have the skills to care for the elderly, it can help reduce the caregiving burden and increase safety for senior citizens in the community effectively. Furthermore, it promotes the exchange of experiences and the creation of a caregiver network that can support one another, strengthening the community. Participants will gain knowledge and skills to care for the health of the elderly properly and effectively, helping seniors live better-quality lives and receive safe care in environments suited to their lifestyle.

“The Company is committed to fully supporting elderly care, with the belief that the knowledge and skills participants gained from this training will help improve the quality of life for older adults and strengthen Thai communities and society overall. We will continue to carry out beneficial initiatives that pass on value and care to every Thai family,” Mr. Sara concluded.
