MTL registers Its “Carbon Footprint of Organization (CFO)” with TGO for the Third Consecutive Year

Muang Thai Life Assurance registered its Carbon Footprint of Organization (CFO) with the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO) for the third consecutive year, reaffirming its commitment to achieving Net Zero for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030.
Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability by registering for the Carbon Footprint of Organization (CFO) certification with the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) (TGO) for the third consecutive year, covering greenhouse gas emissions assessments under Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3, based on data from the base year 2022.
The continued registration of CFO demonstrates MTL’s commitment to maintaining high standards and transparency in environmental management. This aligns with MTL’s ESG strategy and its goal to achieve Net Zero emissions for Scope 1 and Scope 2 by 2030.
Mr. Sara Lamsam, Chief Executive Officer, stated that “The continued CFO registration for the third consecutive year not only reflects the quality of our data management but also serves as a crucial foundation for systematic carbon reduction planning. This will enable us to achieve the Net Zero target in a truly effective and sustainable manner, while ensuring transparent and credible communication with all stakeholders.”
Over the past three years, MTL has collected and assessed carbon emissions data from its key organizational activities, verified by an independent third-party accredited by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO). MTL has also continuously improved its processes to enhance efficiency in carbon reduction and optimize resource utilization.
MTL has developed an operational plan to reduce carbon emissions under Scope 1 and Scope 2, including initiatives such as transitioning MTL’s vehicle fleet to hybrid and electric vehicles, conducting assessments and planning to replace air-conditioning systems with units using low global warming potential refrigerants, implementing energy-saving measures within the organization, and increasing the use of renewable energy through the installation of additional solar rooftop systems at the head office, branch offices, and the Sarnsara Learning Center. MTL also promotes employee awareness and engagement in climate action, aiming to achieve its Net Zero target by 2030 in a truly sustainable manner.
At the Carbon Label Certification Ceremony organized by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) (TGO), Mr. Pramote Sakkumjorn, Senior Executive Vice President of Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited, represented MTL in receiving the Carbon Label Certification from Mr. Nakorn Trakvirapat, Executive Director of TGO and Chairman of the Ceremony. The event was held to honor and express appreciation to organizations certified with the Carbon Label for their significant contributions to driving greenhouse gas reduction efforts toward achieving Net Zero, and took place at the Conference Hall, Thailand Institute of Justice (Public Organization) (TIJ), Chaeng Watthana Road, Bangkok.
