Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited, in collaboration with the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC), the Thai Life Assurance Association, the Thai Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Life Insurance Fund, and leading life insurance companies nationwide, organized the “Blood Donation for the Lives of Fellow Humans” event to mark the 24th National Life Insurance Day 2025. The event aimed to encourage life insurance industry personnel and the general public to unite in doing good deeds by donating blood — a precious gift of life to others.

The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Chuchatr Pramoolpol, Secretary-General of the Office of Insurance Commission, who presided over the ceremony, together with executives from both public and private life insurance organizations, all actively participating in the blood donation activity. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dujjai Chaiwanichsiri, Director of the National Blood Centre of the Thai Red Cross Society, welcomed the participants and expressed appreciation and gratitude for the life insurance sector’s continued support of the initiative. Representing Muang Thai Life Assurance were Mr. Pramote Sakkumjorn, Senior Executive Vice President, and Mr. Sarayud Tinakorn Na Ayudhaya, Senior Executive Vice President, along with sales executives, agents, and employees, all of whom took part in the event.

This event aims to mobilize over 15,000 blood donors nationwide, with the expectation of collecting no less than 6,000,000 cc of blood reserves for use in treating emergency patients and those requiring regular blood transfusions — especially surgery patients, severe accident victims, and individuals with chronic illnesses such as thalassemia and thrombocytopenia, who urgently need blood to save their lives. According to data from the National Blood Centre of the Thai Red Cross Society, in the fiscal year 2024, Thailand still faced an insufficient number of blood donors to meet demand. Around 1 million people donated blood once a year, while approximately 300,000 donated twice a year, resulting in many hospitals experiencing ongoing blood shortages.

Blood donation not only saves the lives of others but also benefits donors in terms of health, such as stimulating the production of new blood cells, reducing the risk of heart disease, and providing a basic health check-up. Furthermore, it fosters a sense of pride in being part of helping fellow human beings.

Over the years, Muang Thai Life Assurance has continuously emphasized the importance of blood donation through the “The Joy of Giving, The Heart of Receiving” campaign. MTL has provided blood donation venues both at its Bangkok headquarters and regional branches in Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen, and Hat Yai. From 2024 to June 2025, the total volume of blood collected exceeded 384,800 cc, reflecting MTL’s commitment to fostering a society of sharing, as well as the united effort of its executives, employees, and compassionate donors.

This initiative is not only an act of volunteerism to give back to society but also a reflection of the Social dimension of the ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) principles that Muang Thai Life Assurance has steadfastly upheld. It encourages employees, agents, and the general public to participate in building a culture of generosity and sharing.

Muang Thai Life Assurance invites everyone to take part in this blood donation activity — because “just one drop of your blood could give life to many others.”
