Muang Thai Life Assurance and Muang Thai Yim Foundation delivered winter blankets to the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, continuing the “Together Possible” initiative to alleviate hardship for the people and to help them handle cold weather conditions.
Mr. Sara Lamsam, Chief Executive Officer of Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited, and Mrs. Phittraporn Punyaratabandhu, Vice Chairperson of Muang Thai Yim Foundation, met with Mr. Anukul Peedkaew, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS), to deliver winter blankets to the MSDHS as part of the ongoing Together Possible initiative, aiming to alleviate hardship and address cold weather conditions for people in various areas.
Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited and Muang Thai Yim Foundation have been monitoring the cold weather situation in Thailand since the end of 2024 and found that many Thai people in several areas have been affected by climate change. Therefore, in order to support and promote the government’s management efforts in line with MSDHS policies to provide assistance to the public, Mr. Sara Lamsam, Chief Executive Officer of Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited, and Mrs. Phittraporn Punyaratabandhu, Vice Chairperson of Muang Thai Yim Foundation, delivered 300 winter blankets to Mr. Anukul Peedkaew, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, with the presence of Mrs. Jatuporn Rojanapanich, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Miss Ramrung Worawat, Director-General of the Department of Women's Affairs and Family Development, Mr. Kantapong Rangsesawang, Director-General of the Department of Social Development and Welfare, Miss Sonthaya Boonyaphusit, Chief Inspector General of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, and other MSDHS executives who jointly accepted the donation to help alleviate hardship and support vulnerable groups affected by cold weather, including young children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities in several areas. This activity was held at the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security.
The upcycled winter blankets align with the government’s policy to reduce the increasing amount of plastic bottle waste. Each blanket is made from 11 used 1.5-liter plastic bottles. This reflects the importance of adding value to unused materials through quality reuse, while also passing on warmth to people affected by the cold weather.
