Job Summary

We are seeking a highly technical and strategic Team Lead for Middleware and Core Insurance (MCSI). In this role, you will lead a team of specialists responsible for the high availability, security, and modernization of our enterprise application hosting platforms.

While you will oversee legacy on-premises environments, your primary mission will be to drive with  cloud strategy—leading cloud migrations, architecting AWS-native and hybrid environments, and shifting traditional middleware and database workloads into modern, secure, open-source AWS configurations. This position requires deep AWS expertise combined with a strong background in enterprise middleware, open-source containerization, and DevSecOps.

Job Description

Cloud Architecture

• AWS Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and manage scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS utilizing core services (EC2, EKS, RDS, VPC, IAM, Route53).
• Cloud Migration Strategy: Lead the migration of legacy core systems and middleware workloads (WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss) from on-premises into Cloud.
• Modernization via EKS: Architect and maintain open-source containerized infrastructures using Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS) and Docker.
• Cost & Performance Optimization: Proactively monitor and optimize AWS spend, resource utilization, and performance capacity using AWS CloudWatch, AWS Compute Optimizer, and open-source observability tools.
• Hardening & Guardrails: Enforce strict AWS security best practices utilizing AWS IAM  (Least Privilege), AWS KMS (Encryption at rest/transit), and Security Groups/NACLs. Provide standard on-premise and cloud  policy .
• AI-Assisted Automation: Guide the team in safely adopting AI-powered coding assistants (e.g., AWS Amazon Q, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate the development of Terraform scripts and Ansible playbooks.
• Secure Tool Execution: Enforce strict security controls and sandbox isolation for AI agents executing dynamic tools or runtime code (Function Calling).
• Optimizing MA and subscription  spending   by FinOps (Financial Operations) policies alongside , you can eliminate cloud waste and slash software maintenance overhead simultaneously . 

Middleware, Open Source & Database Operations

• Guide the team in the configuration, patching, and tuning of enterprise middleware application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss).
• Drive automation across the hybrid infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) and Ansible for configuration management.
• Oversee the administration, high availability, and backup/recovery strategies of diverse database engines (Oracle RAC, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, DB2, MongoDB, Redis), ensuring optimal integration with AWS platforms (e.g., EC2, Amazon RDS, Amazon ElastiCache).
• Support core legacy systems running on Linux and IBM AIX, ensuring smooth hybrid-cloud connectivity

Qualification

• Experience: more than 5 years in Infrastructure, Middleware, or DevOps Engineering, with at least 1 years leading engineering teams in an production AWS environment.
• AWS Expertise: Proven track record of architecting hybrid network topologies (AWS Direct Connect/VPN) and successfully migrating complex enterprise database and middleware workloads to AWS.
• Containerization Masters: Deep hands-on experience managing production-grade Kubernetes/Amazon EKS clusters.
• Automation-First Mindset: Highly proficient in building CI/CD pipelines and deploying multi-tier architectures via Terraform.
• Education & Preferred Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
