Human rights

refer to the inherent rights of every human being, regardless of physical or mental differences, race, nationality, origin, ethnicity, religion, gender, language, age, skin color, education, social status, culture, customs, or any other distinction. These rights also include the right to life and liberty, freedom from slavery, torture, human trafficking, abuse, forced labor, and child labor, freedom of expression, the right to work, fair working hours, equal pay, education, as well as other rights such as personal data protection, health, and safety. Everyone is entitled to these rights equally and without discrimination, managed through the acceptance and promotion of diversity and individual differences.

Discrimination

refers to the unfair treatment of individuals by imposing unequal burdens or denying equal benefits, instead of treating individuals justly based on the rights to which each person is entitled. Discrimination may also include harassment.

Harassment

refers to any unwelcome remarks or actions that are generally accepted as undesirable in interactions with others. Non-sexual harassment may include defamation and bullying, while sexual harassment involves conduct of a sexual nature.

Employees

refer to all levels of executives and employees working under an employment contract with the Company.

Stakeholders

refer to employees, agents, customers, suppliers, and all those involved in the Company’s business.

                The Company recognizes and respects the human rights of employees and stakeholders involved in its business operations. Therefore, human rights practices have been incorporated as part of the Company’s business operations in all areas throughout the business value chain. The Company has established management guidelines and a comprehensive Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) process to prevent the risk of human rights violations arising from its business activities. This includes the identification and assessment of actual or potential human rights risks and impacts from the Company’s operations, as well as related business activities. Additionally, measures have been put in place to prevent, mitigate, or address impacts from human rights violations. The Company ensures monitoring and reporting of the operational results and has also established remedial measures for stakeholders affected by or connected to the Company. Furthermore, a channel for receiving complaints and a mechanism for handling human rights-related complaints is available for employees and stakeholders. Protection measures for whistleblowers are provided, in accordance with the Company’s Whistleblowing Policy.

                In addition, the Company regularly communicates, disseminates, and assesses knowledge and understanding of the Human Rights Policy among employees and stakeholders. This aims to raise awareness about respecting human rights and preventing violations that may arise from operations, as well as fostering ethical and moral business practices. Employees

The Company has established a human resource management policy to support fair treatment and respect for human rights. It is committed to promoting good labor practices, managing employee safety and health, and creating a positive working environment. The Company also aims to provide opportunities for career advancement and continuous skill development in alignment with its business strategy, as outlined below:

• The Company includes human rights in its code of conduct and business ethics, supporting and respecting the protection of human rights by refraining from involvement in human rights violations. Employees are provided with a clear understanding of human rights to ensure they can act accordingly.
• The Company recognizes and respects the human rights of its employees and places great importance on managing diversity within the organization. It treats all employees equally and fairly, without discrimination based on race, skin color, religion, gender, age, nationality, citizenship, sexual orientation, disability, or any other status. The use of child labor below the legal age and illegal labor is strictly prohibited. The Company upholds human rights principles to prevent discrimination of any kind, while fostering a culture that embraces diversity. This includes recruiting employees based on their capabilities, continuous employee development, and promoting equal opportunities for career progression.
• The Company provides fair employment and remuneration for employees and promotes appropriate working conditions. Employee benefits are regularly reviewed to ensure they align with the evolving social, economic, and lifestyle conditions.

• The Company recognizes that fair access to life and health insurance services is a fundamental right of customers. As such, the Company has established a market conduct policy to ensure that customers receive fair service, with their best interests as the priority (fair dealing). This policy encompasses transparent, fair, quality, and accountable business practices, covering product development and issuance, selection of sales representatives and distribution channels, sales processes, the use of technology in sales, customer service, life insurance claim payments, complaint management, and the safeguarding of customer information.
• The Company respects the rights of data owners and prioritizes the protection of customers' personal data. A personal data protection policy, along with regulations and a manual for personal data management, has been implemented. Measures are in place to ensure that Company personnel comply with data protection laws and policies, and personal data is not used unlawfully. The Company enforces strict measures to secure information following international standards and relevant laws to ensure proper and appropriate management of customer data, without violating their privacy.
• The Company provides systematic channels for receiving customer complaints and service suggestions, with appropriate management of such complaints, as well as remedies in cases of human rights violations.

Suppliers

• The Company encourages its suppliers to conduct business transparently and maintains a procurement process that is transparent and fair to all parties involved.
• The Company has set various social factors, such as fair trade, human rights, fair wages and benefits, reasonable working hours, labor protection, and the prohibition of forced labor, as criteria for selecting suppliers. Compliance with safety and occupational health laws is also a requirement. These conditions are included in contracts, and suppliers must adhere to human rights principles and follow relevant laws and regulations while conducting their business, with consideration for stakeholders under good corporate governance principles.
• The Company evaluates environmental and social impacts, assessing risks and impacts on human rights. It will take appropriate action to mitigate these impacts. All suppliers must undergo a thorough evaluation, and the Company encourages them to conduct business with consideration for the impact on communities and society. Moreover, suppliers must manage the environment at their operations in compliance with legal requirements and government regulations, avoiding any negative impact on the environment.

Communities and Societies Involved with the Company’s Business Activities

• The Company is committed to human rights principles and practices to ensure that its operations or related activities do not directly or indirectly cause human rights violations.

                The Company monitors human rights adherence at every stage of its operations, without neglecting or permitting any human rights violations, nor ignoring actions that could potentially constitute such violations. The Company has implemented a Whistle-Blowing Policy, allowing stakeholders to report misconduct or lodge complaints in good faith through multiple channels. If any party witnesses misconduct by the Company’s directors, executives, employees, agents, brokers, or workers—whether related to corruption, legal violations, human rights issues, regulatory breaches, or business conduct which breaches codes of conduct—they can file a report or complaint via the designated channels. The identity of the whistleblower will be kept confidential and protected throughout the investigation process and after its conclusion.                 The Company has established penalties for those who commit human rights violations. In cases where human rights violations by external parties cause damage to the Company, legal action will be pursued. If the violator is an employee, disciplinary action may be taken, which could result in termination of employment, in accordance with the Company’s work regulations. Therefore, if a violation occurs or is suspected to have occurred according to this policy, employees must immediately report it to their supervisor. The Human Resources Department is responsible for monitoring compliance with this Human Rights Policy and maintaining all records related to actions that violate or may violate employee human rights.

              The Corporate Governance and Sustainability Committee is responsible for reviewing the Human Rights Policy at least once a year to ensure its appropriateness and alignment with changing circumstances. The review is then submitted to the Board of Directors for approval.
