Privacy Notice Regarding Personal Data
of Life Insurance Agents

      Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited and its subsidiaries including companies or organizations that control, are controlled or are under control by the Company which may mostly have the same shareholders or directors (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) highly respect your privacy and are aware of the responsibilities in relation to collection, use, and disclosure of personal data of life insurance agents, applicants for the life insurance agent license examination, or applicants for the life insurance agent licensing course, both past and present (hereinafter referred to as "you") and/or delivery, transfer of your personal data to others.

      The Company greatly values your trust and confidence in the Company and is committed to processing and protecting your personal data accurately and appropriately. Therefore, it is also very important to the Company that you understand about methods and procedures for the collecting, use, processing and disclosure of personal data. You must carefully read and understand the Privacy Notice regarding the personal data of life insurance agents as follows.


1. Personal Data Collection

      Types of personal data that the Company collects, uses, processes and/or discloses depends on purpose of your consent. In this regard, the Company aims to collect only personal data necessary or related for compliance with the laws, compliance with the contract and entering into a contract, and related to the internal management of the Company only. If you do not provide the personal data necessary for the Company's operations, refuse to give consent, and/or withdraw your consent for the processing of personal data, the Company may be unable to proceed with the contractual arrangements with you. Examples of personal data that the Company may collect include:
      a. Information provided during the application process – This includes data received when you apply to become a life insurance agent, register for the licensing examination, or enroll in a training course for obtaining a life insurance agent license. Examples include your name, surname, gender, nationality, passport number, national ID number, date of birth, educational background, occupation, life insurance agent license number, signature, address, phone number, email, photograph, exam or training session details (such as format, date, and location), payment details, and financial transactions related to the application and/or training.
      b. Participation information – This includes data related to your participation in the life insurance agent licensing examination or training courses, such as registration details, photographs, videos, audio recordings, exam or training results, and satisfaction survey responses.
      c. Sensitive personal data – This includes your criminal record.
      d. Information related to your work as a life insurance agent – such as your position, affiliated agency, date of agent appointment, compensation payment history, information on life insurance sales, performance evaluations, details of complaint handling or internal investigations regarding agent conduct within the company, electronic communications, and other documents created. This also includes other information used in the company's systems, as well as data recorded by CCTV within the company's premises.
      e. Financial information – This includes bank account details, compensation, and other benefits.
      f. Family member information – This includes employment or agency status of family members within the company, as well as the names of your father and mother.

      If you have provided the Company with personal data of other individuals (such as family members or the agency manager of your affiliated agency as a reference for the person who recommended you to apply as a life insurance agent, take the licensing exam, and/or enroll in training with the Company), you acknowledge and confirm that you have informed the relevant individuals about the data processing and obtained their consent (where required) for disclosing their information to the Company. Additionally, you confirm that these individuals have agreed to allow the Company to collect, use, and disclose their personal data for the aforementioned purposes.

      Sensitive Personal Data The Company is required to collect sensitive personal data, specifically criminal record information. This data is essential for assessing the qualifications and suitability of life insurance agents in accordance with the Company’s criteria, the Life Insurance Act B.E. 2535 (1992) and its amendments, as well as the Company’s regulations, rules, and criteria. If a criminal background check is necessary, the Company will proceed only after obtaining your consent, except in cases where the law permits processing without consent. Therefore, if you do not provide consent or withdraw your consent for processing this sensitive personal data, the Company will be unable to consider your application to become a life insurance agent.


2. Methods of Collecting Your Personal Date

      The Company will collect your personal data based on the information you provide during the process of applying to become a life insurance agent, applying to take the exam to obtain a life insurance agent license, or applying for training courses for the life insurance agent license. This also includes information provided through the Company’s channels for applying to become a life insurance agent, during the training process, participation in the exam for obtaining the life insurance agent license, or participation in training courses related to the life insurance agent license. Additionally, it includes information gathered during the performance of your duties as a life insurance agent for the Company or any other cases specified in the life insurance agent contract. The Company may also collect your personal data from other sources, such as external verification and additional personal history checks if necessary, for example, from the Royal Thai Police for criminal records or the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC). The personal data the Company collects is necessary for the Company to enter into a contract with you, to comply with applicable laws, or for the legitimate interests of the Company. If you do not provide the requested personal data, the Company may not be able to manage or administer the life insurance agent contract between you and the Company.  


3. Purposes of Collecting and Using Personal Data

      The Company uses the personal data you provided when you applied to become a life insurance agent, applied for the exam to obtain a life insurance agent license, or registered for training courses to obtain a life insurance agent license, or entered into a life insurance agent contract with the Company, for the purposes for which you provided the information. This includes conducting and facilitating the exam or training as requested, managing life insurance agents, and administering life insurance agent contracts. The Company uses your personal data for various purposes under the following legal bases:

      a. Application for the exam to obtain a life insurance agent license or enrollment in the training course to obtain a life insurance agent license

- Store CCTV footage recorded inside or around the Company’s premises, along with other data captured when you visit the Company’s premises. For example, the Company may use CCTV footage to detect and prevent crimes, detect and prevent security incidents, detect and prevent unauthorized access to the Company’s premises and restricted areas, detect and prevent serious misconduct, support investigations related to security, safety, and internal operations, assist in criminal investigations, and to review security and safety events.

      Other purposes that are not mentioned above, but will be specifically stated at the time we request your data, or when data is collected and used. Unless otherwise allowed by applicable laws and regulations and Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019), the Company shall notify you if the Company wishes to use your personal data for any other purposes than those specified in this Privacy Notice Regarding Personal Data of Life Insurance Agents or than those purposes directly related to this Privacy Notice Regarding Personal Data of Life Insurance Agents. In cases where consent is required, the Company will request your consent.


4. Methods of Personal Data Protection

      The personal data collected by the Company will be processed fairly and accurately in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019). The Company has implemented physical and electronic security measures to ensure compliance with the applicable regulatory standards for protecting your personal data. 5. Retention Period of Personal Data

      The Company has a policy to collect and retain the personal data only as deemed necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the data was collected from you, divided as follows:
      a. For the application to take the examination for the life insurance agent license and the application for the training course to obtain the life insurance agent license, the Company will retain the personal data for 2 years from the date the Company receives the personal data.
      b. For those who are life insurance agents of the Company, the Company will retain the personal data for the duration of the life insurance agent contract and will retain it for an additional 12 years from the termination or expiration of the life insurance agent contract, or for as long as may be required or permitted by applicable laws (even if you have terminated your relationship with the Company).



6. Disclosure of Your Personal Data

      The Company has Personal Data security policy and procedures, and restrict access to your Personal Data whereby only those who need to use your Personal Data are allowed to access. However, your Personal Data may be shared to the following persons:
      - The Company will disclose your personal data to external parties that provide services to the Company, such as external parties providing information technology services that assist in the Company’s business operations, professional advisors, entities responsible for receiving/payments of compensation and benefits to you, lawyers or accountants, hospitals, service providers related to travel or accommodation, service providers for examinations and training for obtaining a life insurance license (e.g., Thai Life Assurance Association, Thai Insurance Institute), agencies involved in the development of the life insurance business (e.g., MDRT, GAMA), life insurance companies in the case that you are still an agent affiliated with another life insurance company to terminate your agency status with the former company. If the Company discloses information to external service providers, the Company will implement strict control measures to ensure the protection of your data.
      - The Company may disclose your information to customers/partners if necessary for customer service or for coordinating with partners. For example, the Company may provide your contact details so that customers can contact you regarding work you are involved in.
      - The Company will disclose your information if required to comply with the law. For example, when the law, government agencies, law enforcement agencies, committees established by law, or regulatory authorities require the Company to disclose such information. For instance, the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC), or the Company may disclose information as part of legal claims. The Company may also disclose your information for important public interests when such disclosure is necessary and proportional. For example, the Company may provide your information to tax authorities.

      In the event that the Company enters into a contract with a third party or a service provider, the Company will implement appropriate measures to ensure the security of personal data and the protection of confidential information. This is to ensure that your personal data is kept secure.


7. Your Rights Based on Personal Data Protection Law

      You have the right, as a data subject, to access data relating to you, to be informed about the existence and the extent of data processing, to rectify incorrect personal data (whichever the case may be), to make use of your personal data’s portability and to oppose further processing on serious and legitimate grounds. 8. Amendments to the Privacy Notice Regarding Personal Data of Life Insurance Agents

      The Company reserves the right to amend this Privacy Notice Regarding Personal Data of Life Insurance Agents at any time. In case of any changes or amendments to this Privacy Notice, the Company will update the new information on the Company’s website https://www.muangthai.co.th/th/privacy-policy or through the life insurance agent channel as the Company deems appropriate. This Privacy Notice was last updated on 11 February 2025.
